This karaoke player download is 100% free AND 100% easy!
This is the very same karaoke player software that I use for my professional karaoke shows!
This karaoke player supports multiple monitors, huge cdg file libraries and savable playlists.
It is very flexible and extremely configurable.
It even supports remote control from an iphone!

The first step is to download the free version of Winamp at: http://www.winamp.com/media-player/en
Click on the "Free Download" link, download and install Winamp.
Note that you do not need the MP3 Bundle (you can get it if you want, but it is not necessary).
It is also not necessary to purchase the Pro Version of Winamp. The Pro Version adds a few upgrades that you may be interested in, but if you are strictly using this for karaoke playback, it is not necessary. I recommend that you save your money to purchase the CDG ripping software that is required to extract the CDG and MP3 files from your discs to be stored on your laptop or desktop computer!

The second step is to download the cdg plugin for Winamp at: http://www.winamp.com/plugin/cdg-plug-in/100775
Click the "Download" link and install this plugin after you download.
This plug-in will let you play karaoke mp3+g (cdg) files from your pc (which is what I recommend).
These are the files that are produced after a CDG disc is ripped to your hard drive.

If you want to play cdg disks from your pc (via your cd-rom or dvd drive) then install the plug-in at http://www.winamp.com/plugin/cdg-disk-player-plugin/141804 Click the "Download" link and install the plug-in after you download.

After installation, simply set the secondary screen option and you are almost ready to start the show!
(I use two display screens - one screen for Winamp to control the show - the other screen for the karaoke lyrics)

You will need to configure Winamp to select the proper directory on your pc to find the karaoke cdg files. This is done in the preferences. This is also assuming you have cdg files on your pc. If you have not ripped your karaoke cdg discs yet you need to read my article entitled "Where To Get CDG Karaoke Music For My PC?" to find out where to get good deals on CDG discs and the software that I use to rip them!
